When Jacquelyn Aluotto chose the name for her production company, she wanted it to have a special meaning. Pick It Up! Pictures was born with the idea that every single one of us needs to be held accountable when it comes to making the world a better place. She is trying to do her part and hopes she can inspire others. Her first project, “Not In My Backyard”, dives right into a powerful american social issue, abused and homeless women and children. Jacquelyn never went to film school, and took on this project simply because she wanted to help. Using her own funds and time, she spent seven years in underground shelters and on the streets to get to know the women, the children, and their incredible stories .
